About the Founder...

 

 

Mr. Hayes A. Bynum I. was born Memphis, Tennessee and raised on the South Side of Chicago. He graduated from Lindblom Technical H.S. with honors in 1968, and continued his education at Loyola University majoring in mathematics.

 

He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The First Impression of Chicago Inc., a commercial printing company. He brings an unmatched history of over forty years of public service and leadership to the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs.

 

Mr. Bynum I. is a visionary leader, a reflective thinker, and he works well with people. At an early age, he had a dream to become an entrepreneur. In 1969 Mr. Bynum I began employment at Huey Repro-Graphic Company. After a short time of employment, he was promoted to supervisor of the company. Through determination and spiritual strength, his dream became a reality.

 

Dedicating his career to operating his own printing company, he started The First Impression of Chicago Inc. working out of his basement of his home in 1974. Today, the family owned and operated company, which is one of the leading black businesses in the City of Chicago. In the nineties, Sonja and Hayes II (his two oldest children) joined the company. They played a key role in the operation and expansion of the company, both with on the job training and a commitment to it's success. 

 

Mr. Bynum believes children are the future; we must establish a base for their success. In addition to his busy schedule, Mr. Bynum I finds time to provide mentoring and tutoring services for the children and youth in the community. He awards scholarships to high school graduates and free Graphic Design Classes for college students. He is the Chief Operating Officer, of Continuing Academic Training Children and Youth Services. On a daily basis the doors of First Impression are open to the community for customized and quality printing services and youth mentoring and tutoring.

 

Mr. Bynum is a caring, compassionate, helpful, dedicated, competent, consciousness businessman. Because of his commitment to people and his passion for helping others he has received numerous awards and accolades. Mr. Hayes Bynum Sr. is married to Dr. Frankie Swoope-Bynum and has five children Sonya, Hayes II, Jonathan, Courtney and Tamara.
